Seeing the Lahaina Fire from Kaanapali

Came to Maui to heal, celebrate, honor and memorialize a truly great and amazing man, Kevin Sousa. The first couple of days were great and going as planned. And then the hurricane that was south of the Hawaiian Islands produced some extremely strong winds, and you know the rest of the story (although the news outlets were pretty inaccurate in a LOT of coverage). Here was our perspective from next door in Kaanapali.

Walking the streets of Lahaina was surreal and horrific and it was as the Gov. Green said… “tragically gone.” Grateful the fire stopped before we were directly impacted, but devastated for the Ohanas and the people of Lahaina and Maui. So much loss and so much healing to be done.
