Bharat Trivedi - Arabian Mirage
Crawling towards a distant delusion,
I reach the illusionary lush green oasis,
where the cool blue waters offer me their luscious lips
to quench my insatiable thirst of centuries.
Passionate palms swinging in a ferocious frenzy,
invite me for a siesta under their breezy shaded lap.
I hallucinate of semi-clad Arabian dancers!
Their bare bellies sway
to the exotic tunes of a mystic oriental melody!
Snaking serpentines entwined to their damp sweaty bodies
and their amorous arms and long legs gyrate in unison
to the rhythmic pulsating beats…

Alas! that mystic mirage has vanished
and I am lost somewhere in the
scorching sultry dunes of Sahara.
Last grains of sands of time
slip to the bottom of my dusty hourglass
and gasping for few drops of nectar of life,
the eternal expedition
of my existence
ends…

Copyright ©2008 Bharat B.
