1️⃣ Prepare the required documents.
2️⃣ Choose an accredited travel agency to process your visa application. (The Japan Embassy does NOT accept direct applications.)
3️⃣ Submit your documents to your selected agency and they will process your application for you.
Note: Japan Visa is FREE but travel agencies charge for the application services. The fee ranges from PHP 1,000 - PHP 1,500.
4️⃣ Wait for the results of your Japan visa application.

Now that anyone can travel to Japan, Kyoto is again overflowing with tourists.
I personally am very happy, but many residents are not.
One of the biggest reasons is because the buses are too crowded that locals miss several buses causing them to be late for work or errands.
So Kyoto City proposed to the national government to raise bus fares for tourists.
What do you think about this?
I personally think that this won’t solve anything.
Regardless of whether the fare is a little higher, tourists must take some form of public transportation to get around.
Such discriminatory policies will only lead to complaints from tourists.
Instead, there should be more effective measures such as increasing the number of buses, setting up bus routes for tourists, promoting train travel, etc.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

This is a short travel video of my 2 1/2 week trip around Japan in late November 2016. Japan is an amazing country with a unique coexistence between the old and the new that sometimes boggles the mind of a foreigner. At its heart lies a beautiful country, filled with generous and polite people always willing to help a lost stranger with map reading issues.

Our Japan trip starts right now! Join us for a travel vlog flying to Japan from Canada going from Toronto to Vancouver to Osaka with Air Canada. We've been wanting to take a trip to Japan since we taught English in Korea back in 2012. We had always assumed it would be our first destination to visit after teaching but we ended up delaying and putting it off. We're now finally visiting Japan together for the first time!

Our long journey started off in Toronto with a flight to Vancouver with Air Canada. Upon arriving in Vancouver we had quite a bit of time to kill before catching another Air Canada flight to Osaka. Overall, it was a really tiring day but we arrived excited to be in Japan despite our jet lag.

Upon arriving we took the train and metro to our airbnb with a few snags along the way. After passing out we grabbed a convenience store meal from Lawson as our first dinner in Japan. We're really excited to explore Osaka in the next episode. We're so excited about this Japan trip series as it is the biggest one we've created to date.

Flying to Japan from Canada travel vlog | Our Japan Trip starts NOW! Video Transcript:

Good morning good morning guys. We have a big video for you today. An important update. Important update. We are going to Japan!

At long last. We've been wanting to visit for years. Like I thought this would be the first place we visited after we finished teaching in Korea way back in 2012. It has been five years in the works. We planned trips in the past to go to Japan. Canceled them and just haven't found time but now we've made it a priority. We are going for 2 months in Japan. And we have 2 flights today.

We're going to be flying from Toronto to Vancouver. That is five hours. Changing planes and then Vancouver to Osaka. It is going to be 11 hours. And we are flying into Osaka instead of Tokyo yeah because it was cheaper.

We got a great deal. If you are planning to travel around Japan not just in Tokyo look at neighbouring cities. I think we may have got our flights. I can't remember because we booked them a few months ago. I think they might have been like 900 something Canadian. Canadian. That is like 700 US something. Incredible deal. It is usually double.

Well the never-ending journey. We've made it. We're in Japan. We have made it. It has been such a long travel day like we probably look like urgh. We need sleep.

We got our tickets for 920 Yen. We're going to Taknachia or something like that and then we have to transfer to the metro so we're a bit lost and confused at the moment. We are going to figure it out eventually.

The update is that we found the metro but before buying the metro tickets we followed incorrect instructions.

Let's enjoy it our first meal in Japan guys.

Time for a little update. But we're also whispering because it is really late yes and I think we have neighbours so so we basically just came in here and I think we were passed out within seconds not minutes.

And we slept for like 6 or 7 hours. We woke up at a really bizarre hour. I think it is like one or two in the morning. It is like one in the morning right now. We're a little bit peckish so. You more than me. I think we're going to go try and find a convenience store nearby to have a little bite.

The meal is really good so far. The only surprise is that I thought it was a pork tonkatsu but then we bit into it and we're like this is fish. It is like breaded fish but still tasty. I'm moving on to the dumplings now.

It has been a very long 2 days. I feel like at this point so we're going to say goodbye and goodnight. We're going to sleep yet again. Goodnight. And tomorrow we're going to have a video where we basically plan to create a video of our first impressions of our first full day here in Japan. Stay tuned for that. Bye

You might think that visiting 12 different locations in 14 days is a crazy idea, but this Japan itinerary is going to show you everything you need to know for an epic two weeks in Japan. This plan is perfect for travelers who want to see all Japan has to offer and allow you to experience as much as possible.

The Japan Rail Pass makes traveling throughout Japan affordable and efficient. Nagano city is only 1h 30min from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Fully covered by JR East Nagano & Niigata pass. Great deal to get the pass.

Snow Monkey Park is about 45min via express bus (¥1500 one way) and brings you all the way to the entrance of the park where you start your 1.6km hike (40min) to the hot spring.

Togakushi is a small town about a 50min bus ride (¥1550 one way) from Nagano main station. The path of cedar trees is at Togakushi Okusha bus stop. And you will need to walk 2km straight from the bus stop to the main entrance (Gate).

You can hike from the Togakushi Okusha Shrine to Kagami Lake (Mirror Lake) or you can walk back to the entrance and have a hearty Soba noodle lunch before taking a bus (1 stop) to the Kagami Lake bus stop.

The ¥100 sushi restaurant is called Kappa sushi and it is located in Nagano city, walkable from the main station. It is not the typical conveyor belt type but you need to order the item using the iPad and it will be sent to you via a small sushi train.😄

Thank you so much for watching! This video has been in works for about a year now... Partly because I was juggling working full time, music and editing (a few different projects).

This is by far the project I am most proud of. I came up with the concept for the intro on my last two days in Japan after meeting @Chanrinak at a film makers meet up. I stayed up until about 5am in my hostel planning the shoot and writing the dialog (BTS coming soon).

My videography and film making isn't the greatest out there, but I am proud to make something meaningful and unique to me.

Aloha! We are a worldschooling family with three young kids. Our home base is the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. We've been living a nomadic lifestyle for the past 14 years. Once we started traveling, we just wanted to keep on exploring!

We like to make new friends, eat local foods, and immerse ourselves in culture. We strive towards a natural, minimalist, zero-waste lifestyle. We're not perfect, but we keep trying!
