Welcome to Osaka, Japan! It's our first time ever to Japan and we can't wait to explore Osaka. In this video we make our way around this huge city, we have a hard time using public transit in Japan for the first time but we still manage to visit some key locations around the city. We start off at the beautiful Nakanoshima Park where the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. We then head to Osaka Castle and late take public transit to Dotonbori. If you’re heading to Japan, here’s our ⓺ most useful travel tips! 🇯🇵✌️

❶ while out, make sure to always have cash on you! it’s always easy to find an ATM at convenience stores if you need
❷ to make reservations for restaurants, you can ask your hotel reception to help book if they’re not available to book online. we found this incredibly helpful when booking!
❸ write down some basic Japanese phrases to get around. Google Translate + Google Lens will be your best friends to easily share addresses with cabs, or read menus + signs. pointing at things also does the trick!
❹ you’ll want to wear easily removable shoes— some restaurants will have tatami mats or areas without shoes required and being able to slip your shoes on and off will make this a lot easier.
❺ lower your volume of talking and on your phone, especially indoors to be respectful of others and how loud your conversations are!
❻ load up your metro card! You can load your PASMO or Suica card and easily tap in and out of subway rides and you can use it to pay at some stores and vending machines. Its super convenient!

➢: trash cans are infrequent, so you’ll have to carry trash with you. if you need to find one urgently, there are usually ones in subway stations or convenience stores.

We are in tokyo for the first time and after spending the last couple of months exploring Japan we have finally made it to the capital city, the infamous Tokyo. This is our first time ever in Japan and no trip can be complete with seeing what Tokyo has to offer. In this vlog we explore Shibuya and observe Tokyo from a great height at The Shibuya Sky Observatory. Only Japan can have a pedestrian crossing as a tourist attraction and the Shibuya Crossing is definitely worth checking out on your trip to Tokyo. We will always love Tokyo because, for whatever reason, we never tried Sushi and today, we finally got to try it and it was delicious. We are still quite shocked that it took us this long to try Sushi. We love it.

Japan reopens to hoards of tourists then casually drops a hugely important press release that will change travel in Japan as we know it 😅

I'm honestly shocked by this announcement!! I think everyone could understand a price adjustment, but one to this degree (nearly 80% in some cases...) is just WILD 😭 Really most advice surrounding the JR Pass that exists online right now will be invalid as of October if they go through with this change (they definitely will increase the price, but it is possible they will slightly lower it...we will see)

Japan was country 38, first visited in 2018🌍

We started our trip in the Keihanshin region, which is Japan's second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo, made up of the cities Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other smaller ones. After eight days around this region, we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train twice, first to Hiroshima and then to Fukuoka. From there, we took a boat to Busan, South Korea (we were SO excited about this ferry ride between Japan and Korea!) before catching a train to Seoul and flying home from there!

I rode in a deluxe room on the Sunrise Express sleeper train this time.
It is about a 12-hour trip from Tokyo to Izumo in Shimane Prefecture.

The deluxe room was very comfortable, and I was able to see beautiful Japanese scenery from the train window. Since it was the cherry blossom season, I was also able to enjoy cherry blossoms from the window.

Today we spend two beautiful days as we head from Osaka to our next stop in these epic Japan travel vlogs, to Kyoto!

First we navigate the beautiful train systems in japan, before heading to the Fushimi Inari Taisha, the famous shrine filled with THOUSANDS of tori gates (and we have a little creepy adventure on the way)

We then head into Kyoto old town district ⭐️ Higashiyama while we cafe hop and try delicious foods and treats
